C7 Corvette And Camaro V8's Being Dropped In EU Due To Emissions

The C7 Corvette and Chevrolet Camaro will only be available new in the European Union and the United Kingdom until August 31, 2019, it has been revealed.

Motoring Research states that new emissions regulations going into effect on September 1, 2019 means the 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated LT1 V8 engines powering the C7 Corvette and Camaro will no longer comply. Enthusiasts will of course still be able to buy these cars through the used car market but they won’t find them new.

If other makers V8 and V12 cars are compliant, there is no really good reason why GM's offerings are not. I don't see any announcements from Ferrari or Aston Martin or Porsche or Lamborghini.How hard could it be? A tune?

Actually - GM could bring the engine into compliance - but it does not sell enough of the cars to make it worthwhile - they sell very few of these cars.

Frankly, they should have moved out of the EU - when the sold Opel - even a small group of sales requires support that will make them unprofitable.
