Golden Steering Wheel Turns Out Six Winners

Golden Steering Wheel Turns Out Six Winners
German newspaper Bild am Sonntag has announced the six winners of its Golden Steering Wheel Award, a prize decided on by 25 select automotive experts from various countries. Seemingly the equivalent of a set of golden calipers, the Golden Steering Wheel prize is highly sought after by automakers and, if the translations we've read are correct, can be used the following year by each recipient in ads for the winning models. Below is the list of winners in each class.

MINI Cooper – Small Car
Volvo C30 – Compact Estate
Lexus IS – Luxury
Volkswagen Eos – Convertible
Mercedes CL – Coupe
Hymer B-Class – Recreational Vehicle

Where is that German bias? I can't seem to find it.

This is a complete automotive outrage! The exclusion of Audi is a testment to the stulfication of German minds as a result to overexposure to American culture.

The Q7 already won the Golden Steering Wheel last year, EL34i. And the A6, the year before that, I believe.

These are all good cars. C30 is very cool.

So are the rest of them, I might add- especially the CL. I'll have to drive that, if I can sacrifice the convertible... probably not, but it's in the running.
