Lamborghini May Be Considering The Offroad Huracan Sterrato For Production

Lamborghini, the fast-SUV manufacturer, hasn’t completely lost its way. No, Lamborghini still has some good ideas, like the off-road Huracan concept it debuted recently. And that particular idea might just make it to production.

Lamborghini itself has only shown the concept, called the Huracan Sterrato, in what appeared to be render form, with some images of it staged either in a lonely canyon at dusk or on Mars. But Automobile has photos of the real thing on the paved Nardo test track (which seems to be the opposite of its intent), along with news about its potential production.

I know that some folks have money to burn but could someone please explain to me why you'd want an offroad supercar- even if you raise the ground clearance to make it sort of possible, it will never be as a high as an SUV or have enough suspension rebound to go over really rough ground. If you want to drive your AWD regular supercar in the snow or on dirt, then just mount the right tires.

I like the idea, but not this car... still too low, too large... The Lancia Stratos was the ultimate off road super car... maybe they could learn from that and update it.
