C7 Corvette Inventories Dropping Ahead Of 2020 C8 Mid-Engine Debut

We are exactly one month away from the world debut of the highly anticipated Chevy Corvette C8, but should you want the outgoing front-engined C7, you’d better act fast as the inventory is shrinking as we speak. The folks over at einventorynow.com have done the research to discover dealers have a little over 7,000 cars in stock from the 2019MY, while the number of older 2018MY vehicles doesn’t exceed 200.

Precisely 7,045 C7s available at Chevy dealers equates to a 98-day supply, and if you can’t find the spec you’re looking for, it’s important to know you won’t be able to configure a new Corvette C7 after this week. That shouldn’t be much of an issue as more than 7,000 cars is still a lot and there’s a good chance you’ll find something to your liking, presumably with a nice discount since dealers are likely eager to clear excess inventory stock to make room for the new merchandise.

1 month from debut and they are saying 6-7 months from actually being on sale.

As more comes out about the Corvette Fiero, people are deciding to buy the last "real" Corvette. We are not having a problem selling them.

You're going to eat your words about the C8. It's going to be amusing.

Doubtful. I find its proportions to be hideous.
Your stupid little snide remark does not negate, however, the fact that C7 sales are doing nicely and that it is in response to people NOT wanting the C8.

@MD- Do you think Corvette mgt is listening/seeing this or is it all group think and the horse has left the barn and that is that?

There is a LOT of anger in Corvette groups that they went min-engined. The better plan would have been to produce both, but take the Stingray down a bit in price. GM probably thinks it's making a brilliant move just like they think the GT5 is brilliant, but we what an Aztek turd that is.

Lol. GM is begging people to buy the C7. C8 can't come soon enough.

Read the title, moron: "C7 Corvette Inventories Dropping Ahead Of 2020 C8 Mid-Engine Debut"

We aren't incentivizing any more than usual.
Sales are good.

Besides you HATE Corvettes because they aren't Teslas. That would make you a hypocrite.

Lol. I'm not the one that said people don't want the new C8 moron. You did. Did you read the article?

I love Corvettes. You hate everything.

I recommend you get a new therapist. You need it.

With only my personal opinion, I agree with you. I absolutely hate the proportions of the C8. I hate the pointed, short front end. I hate the side scoops and profile. No camouflage is hiding the rear wheel sitting so far back, and the obvious Camaro/Chevrolet DNA driving the rear end. I almost bought the C7, and maybe I will just to keep it, but there is no way I'd buy this monstrosity. Why not chase Aston Martin and combine beauty, speed and handling? Why chase an NSX when no one wants one? Nobody buying a Ferrari is going to consider a Corvette even if the performance is the same and the price is 75% off. You buy a Ferrari for being a Ferrari. This is just a bad mistake and the lady at the helm of GM needs to go, now.

@runninglogal1 Call me when you know ANYTHING about how the actual sales are progressing at the dealer level rather than just your judgment based on National Enquirer news.

You would be correct. I find all the missteps amusing.

Matt has this correct:

Matt also knows the Corvette buyer and the Corvette world far better than runningshitforbrains1.

A huge deal for this iconic car. I have to agree with Matt on the styling. All but one of the pictures I have seen shows an awkwardly proportioned mid engine car. The one that looked ok was a video of the convertible version showing the top going down, not sure if that was real or not though. Having owned and enjoyed an old 1970 454 4sp I will miss the front engine styling.

I have an '82 collector's edition with 200 original miles from the factory. The styling is gorgeous on this car. The influence of a shark and stingray is amazing on the C3. Today it's just a name, but sitting on the driver's seat of the C3 is amazing looking at the long, stingray shaped hood. The new thing coming out will feel like it came out of Japan.

Ha not only the long hood but the large fenders on both sides of it... was a brute though... and hot as heck in the cabin with that huge lump of hot iron in front of you. Tried sealing the firewall as best I could but it was still always really warm in the cabin.

When I was 8, I went with my uncle to pick up his 74 Orange Stingray (he ordered it Orange because he didn't want a red one). Still remember that day like it was yesterday. My uncle still has the Stingray, it now lives in Utah. It was quite a car to drive - not much power but it was hot and loud and hard to see out of if you were 8 years old.
