Porsche Taycan Interior Video Reveals New "Autopilot" Feature

Porsche Taycan Interior Video Reveals New

A video of what appears to be the interior of the Porsche Taycan showing the dashboard and the user interface has leaked.

Interestingly, it shows a feature called ‘Autopilot’ – like Tesla’s Autopilot.

The Taycan is one of the most anticipated electric vehicles to hit the market in 2019.

It’s based on the Porsche Mission E Concept unveiled back in 2015.

Swell. The transmission has gone from a proper gear select stick, to a Bruan shaver and now it is a triangle with touch sensitivity. Good luck using that with gloves in the winter. So if the touch panel in the triangle goes on the fritz can you still drive home or will you need a tow? Spare me... :(

@CL - It is one possible future dictated by the design department at Porsche. Last time I checked they liked to think of themselves as a Motorsport brand that knows what it is like to lift the cup at Le Mans and many other races. And it was only last year in 2018 when you could get a 911 with a standard PDK shifter on the centre console. Things are sometimes the way they are for a very good reason. Driving controls should not be the purview of the interior design department.

I don't like it either, but it is the future and no amount of foot stamping is going to bring us back to 1965.

Will foot stomping bring us something haptic and automatistic?

This looks fake - probably a fan made video. I seriously doubt the real Taycan will use a gear selector like that.

Electric cars don't need gear selectors.

Too cool, another car to nap in on the way to work.

Looks cool as an arcade game, but will lead to more distracted driving. It's hard to see these cars becoming collectible like previous generation 911s. Very complicated electronics, screens and powertrains. Will the parts, let alone repair know-how be there in 10 years when something goes awry?

I think the video looks too cool to be real. If Porsche pulled this off, kudos to them. Those OLEDs won't be cheap, but they sure would looks nice in a premium car.
