I believe the title is as unreliable as the video was. Typo on the 'maseradi' and the video no longer shows. However the writer is not liable for such since it's not his URL.

By the way, the S8 looks like a sexy beast!. However the CLS AMG looks hot too lol.

That's not even a real picture of the S8- it's a photoshop. That was from before the S8 was introduced.

The real S8 is nicer-looking, with a different bodykit.

top gear have done a test of the s550 v s8 v quattro porte gransport. (for some reason i get my issues about 20 days early, i suscribe. right now i have just got the january issue, which should come out on dec 1st).
the s8 won, because the s class was too luxury, the quattroporte too sporty with a crap interior, the s8 was the perfect balance.

Tell me one thing. Why does Top Gear compare the S8 against the S550. Did Audi all of a sudden stop producing the 4.2 Quattro?

I agree with Bill's post further down. TG is sports oriented and the S550 was just too comfortable for their sporty tastes.

The CLS embodies the concept of Merc's in the past..This car is seriously not given the recognition it should have..A perfect blend of a coupe like exterior, with a somewhat spacious four seater compartment..It is beautifull both inside and out, and undeniably powerfull..I seriously suggest the CLS for the best four-door car on the market..Its an example of what a Mercedes should be. Perfect..

Nut.. isnt the right comparison against a cls amg? like I said, not in the same league. The s8, however woudl surely win against a more formidable competitor . the VW Phaeton!

Top Gear is performance biased, of course the S8 will appeal to them while the S550 will be "to luxury". It doesn't take a genius to figure this out.

maybe if the s8 was compared to the s63 amg, it would have been more fair in a sense, since the MB would be a luxury sedan with a focus on performance like the s8.
i know teh s63 hasnt come out yet(im not sure) but i know it would be btter than comparing the s8 to the s65 amg due to the s65 pricetag of $180,000+.

top gear don't do their tests on performance, they do them on price.
ie 650 v XK8 v sl350

in this case the 65 amg and the 600 are both way more expensive than the S8, by at least 140000 dollars for the 65 and 60000 for the 600.
