Over the weekend, Saturday evening to be exact, my Dale Earnhardt Edition BlackBerry received a terse email from VAG requesting my immediate presence during the forthcoming week. This is completely understandable, as I command substantial responsibility in Audi's West Coast operations.

Why, new Audis will have their own platforms, Audi and VW are in differnt groups. I am sure they will continue to share some of their excellent engines but nothing is wrong with that.

I totally disagree. There is a reason Winterkorn was chosen as head of VW and I can say with certainty it's not because of what they think he can do with VW. Now that Porsche is making the decisions, they want Winterkorn to put the hammer down, so to speak, and really let AUDI take off. I think your actually going to see alot of cash going back to AUDI. It seems a certainty when you notice how they(Peich, Winterkorn) have already divided the brands.

Hah! This is a field day for me! No more "rebadged VW" comments!

You can call them rebadged Bentleys, rebadged Bugattis, or rebadged Lamborghinis, but not rebadged VWs!!!
