The threat of modern cars getting hacked and controlled due to being internet-connected is no longer science fiction. If a presentation from security consultant Eaton Zveare at the DEF CON hacking conference in Las Vegas is to believed, the system is full of more holes than your average salt shaker. It is easy to believe that there's a vulnerability through dealer networks that can allow hackers to track and control vehicle functions, including stopping and starting a vehicle.
