Porsche will reveal a new supercar concept called the Mission S on 15 October - which could preview a mid-engined successor to the 918 Spyder and Carrera GT. 

 

Making its debut at 21:30 on Thursday evening, the Mission S  is expected to preview the first model on the new "super-sports car platform" that CEO Michael Leiters confirmed Porsche was developing last week.

 

Giving the first details of a new supercar that's planned to form part of Porsche's new 'Sportwagenschmiede 35' transformation strategy, Leiters said it will be purely combustion-powered and mechanically distinct from Lamborghini's and Audi's mid-engined models.
