Swedish Union Takes Action Against Saab To Secure Back Wages
A Swedish trade union on Monday said it will take bankruptcy action against troubled automaker Saab Automobile to secure payments to its members, who still haven't received their August salaries.

White-collar labor union Unionen said it will file bankruptcy proceedings against Saab on Monday afternoon, following last week's rejection of Saab's application for bankruptcy protection by a district court.

Local Unionen leader Cecilia Fahlberg regretted that the union had to take this step, but said it was the only available mean to secure payments to its members, who will receive a government-funded salary guarantee if their employer is declared bankrupt.

I can bet that the executives got a there large bonuses much larger than the workers pay, that is why this article says unions and not the executives, so typical how the money people work.

Why so anti union? 56% of the world's wealth is held by 5-6 people, is this right? that isn't you or me is it? The union guys are making middle class wages, without unions there would be even more of a discrepancy of the rich and poor, just like South Africa, dangerous poor people...police state...Not the world I want, then again if I had a private company I would not want a union, I have always been good to my employees and we worked as a team most of the time, occasionally I would have to light a fire under them to get them to do any work, lol, and yes unions do have there problems, I believe large companies need unions because they treat there employees like a number, and with no respect at all, I believe there should be team work with respect, also to work towards a common goal, I am against executives making ridiculous money while the company complains of hardship then points at the small union guys for there lack of money when they just paid there executives millions for doing little.

eldard, while I agree with the premise of what you've posted, it's very simplistic. There are many shades of gray, and things I suspect you don't know about the "work world".

I know that "capital" doesn't pick up and move purely because of wages because it's not cost-effective.
