The Chrysler 300 has been quite a successful car even though its sales might have disappointed Chrysler. It has a unique look, its interior is well appointed and comfortable and its engines will not disappoint anyone. However, despite the fact the current model looks quite modern, the basic underpinnings of the car have been around ever since the 2004 model and this is obvious when you drive the car which feels heavier than pretty much any of its direct competitors.
A new model has been rumored for a long time now and many said that it would even get a Maserati-based platform.

A few days ago though everything changed when an official from the FCA Group announced that the upcoming 2018 Chrysler 300 might use a front wheel drive platform. This is bad news because the platform will certainly take from the way it drives and feels but it has been expected by some people considering that the only rear wheel drive full size sedans are the 300 and the Charger, both of them using the same platform. The new front wheel drive platform certainly is a bold move considering that the current model has been loved for its V8 engines.
