If you are visiting Vienna, we insist that you somehow make some time in your plans to swing by the Albertina. Why? Because original Warhols that were commissioned by Daimler, for their art collection, will be on display.

These are some of the last works Warhol completed before his death and are quite vibrant for anyone appreciative of Mercedes-Benz's products and history.

"A new exhibition opens tonight at the Albertina in Vienna which features Andy Warhol's rarely seen Cars series. The silkscreen paintings were originally commissioned in 1986 for the Daimler Art Collection to commemorate Mercedes-Benz's one hundredth anniversary. Eighty prints showing the development of Mercedes Benz from the first engine driven Daimler carriage to the futuristic concept car were originally commissioned, but only thirty were completed before Warhol's death in 1987..."
