Right out of the gate, let me just state the obvious: this grouping of American muscle cars makes absolutely NO sense.
The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is a track-oriented product. If we're going to put together some badass 'Merican muscle, they should have waited to get the Camaro ZL1.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is an outright monster. It goes after the ZL1 and soon-to-launch Shelby Mustang GT350.
The Ford Mustang GT is the latest and greatest top-of-the-line Mustang, for now. Given the GT350 was just shown, it seems silly to compare it against the likes of the Hellcat.
So, it's uneven all around. BUT, which vehicle is the best if you were to go out to a dealer and buy today?
Since you're talking about three different vehicles with three completely different characteristics, we're essentially looking at an apple, an orange and a pear.
I'll let the three guys break it down in the clip below.
The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and the Ford Mustang GT prove the Big Three aren’t just back, they’re taking names and slapping in-your-face high-fives each time they humiliate a sniffy rival. On tap are mind-bending horsepower, Le Mans moves, cutting-edge electronic gizmos, and designs that, at a glance, can squeeze an adrenal gland dry in seconds. This is American Hustle, circa 2015, and it’s so damn fabulous we’re black and blue from pinching ourselves.
