The SMMT says:
New car registration growth sustained in solid June
Total year-to-date registrations up two per cent to 1,267,299 units
Year-to-date diesel registrations rise by 5.9 per cent to 490,283 units
June total new car market was 222,863 units, up 1.5 per cent on previous year.
Notable Figures: YTD Audi has sold just 1500 fewer cars than BMW (55008 compared to 56570), and has sold 15000 more than Mercedes Benz. It has increased sales 22% over last year's first 6 months, and this year's June figures are 29.5% higher than last year's.
YTD Lexus has sold 7675 cars, half what Volvo (16000) and Saab (12800) have sold so far. Compared to last year's first 6 months, Lexus sales have dropped 0.65%.
Volume winner this month was Vauxhall, selling 33161 cars, up an astonishing 19% compared to last June.
YTD volume winner is Ford, selling 192493 cars.
