BMW has still to announce a diesel 5 Series for the U.S. but the writers at The Diesel Driver continue to drive them around Europe to whet our appetites. On a drive from Munich to Frankfurt, fuel economy was an incredible 38 mpg at Autobahn speeds. Continuing on the drive heading to France (spoiler alert), the 520d got 32 mpg, which is less than what the same drivers reported in the 535d (33 mpg). Conclusion? BMW NA should bring the 535d here as soon as possible!
