A little birdie came by and had some interesting things to tell me about Ram's 2014 lineup. Essentially, the news of the year will be the diesel variant, which is doing some amazing things.

Agent 001 was in SoCal last week driving Chrysler Group's latest and greatest. The last selection of products to test were the selection of Ram trucks.

According to 001, he's predicting that the new diesel Ram will be an "eco-boost bubble burst" as he was able to get 28 - 30 mpg all day long and the vehicle only commands a $2,800 premium over the standard truck. In addition, 001 noted that the vehicle's equipped with an air suspension made it feel like you were "driving in a GL-Class [Mercedes-Benz], not a pickup."

001 tells me he expects the diesel to be the best pickup on the market when it makes it to showrooms at the end of the year.
