Are you ready to pay premium prices for small cars? Ford Motor Co. seems to think so as it will charge more than $23,000 for a fully loaded Fiesta, a car that’s smaller than the Focus.
The market for small cars has long been dominated by budget shoppers. But Jim Farley, Ford’s group vice president of global marketing, says that with this price, the model has already taken 1,000 orders. Farley explains that what Americans have shown the company is that if aspirational products are released, they will not only pay the base price but they will opt to go up as well. The 2011 Fiesta, which goes on sale in summer, is priced from $13,995 including shipping for the four-door sedan.
