Soon after it became known that Infiniti is working on a pair of new G-based vehicles, reports came out that Nissan North America has filed for a trademark for “IPL,” which stands for Infiniti Performance Line.

The filing describes this line as a new catalog of in-house developed that include everything from air filters to cat-back exhaust systems, and automotive engine parts, namely turbochargers and superchargers. This series of actions is believed to be comparable to the methods that NISMO have utilized to develop and market Nissan parts that support Lexus’ launch of its F-Sport performance line. This lineup of performance parts is expected to be fitted to the G37 coupe and to have its unveiling this August at the Pebble Beach extravaganza.
