According to the Anderson Analytics, cell phone and car brands are among the most misidentified.
Only 18,5% knew that Land Rover is British. 58,4% thought it was an American car. About the same numbers goes for Volvo and SAAB. Only 18,5% and 16,5% knew that they were Swedish. Roughly half of them thought they were German brands.
But they did also fail to recognize some American brands. 42 % thought Motorola came from Japan. At leased that was far better then for the Scandinavian rivals, Ericsson and Nokia. Only 10 % recognized Ericsson as a Swedish brand and as few as 4,4% knew that Nokia was from Finland.
