After a leak yesterday, it's official. BMW has lifted the embargo on the M2 CS, which was supposed to be revealed tonight.
Well, if you were waiting for the official details, wait no more.

If you want to read the FULL press release, scope out the link above. As summarized earlier, the M2 CS will benefit from a lot more carbon fiber, more power and exclusivity. Oh, and a lot more Alcantara.
Now with 444 horsepower and 406 lb.-ft. of torque, this M2 is one seriously spiky vehicle. Zero to 60 happens in a staggering 3.8 seconds when equipped with a dual-clutch transmission — if you don't mind going a bit slower, a manual is offered as an option. This is quite a bit faster than the M2 Competition, which was only a hair faster than the original M2.
There's just two pieces of critical information missing from today's news.
First, BMW hasn't announced the vehicle's curb weight. That would be good to know.
Second, BMW isn't publishing how much the M2 CS will cost. Also, would be nice to know the upcharge.
