In recent years I have begun to seriously doubt how important the buying public considers safety with their all-new automotive purchases. The reality is that most vehicles are reasonably safe when it comes to today's crash standards.
Sure there are a couple losers out there, but for the most part all of today's autos are safe provided you're not involved in a triple digit wreck, sideways.
But for those seeking the comfort of an agency's seal of approval, good news if you're in-market for the 2016 Kia Sorento. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) just named it an IIHS Top Safety Pick.
This is a huge improvement from the 2014 MY Sorento that earned itself a poor rating.
