If you've ever been in an automobile accident then I probably don't need to tell you that it's not particularly fun. Not only is it scary if you've been hurt, if you've lucked out and are not injured, you're going to be a bit red.
Not red with anger but embarrassment.
Unfortunately, when you're a test driver or engineer working for a major automotive company, you're going to find yourself on the other side of a lens. There's too many Spies out there now. And if you're conducting high-speed testing at the world-famous Nürburgring, then you're definitely going to be caught on camera. If you crash, you're screwed.
This just happened to a driver testing the all-new Audi TT RS.
While the Spies didn't capture the exact moment on camera, it's clear that this is one of the 2.5-liter, five-cylinder prototypes undergoing testing. Some things to note: the oval "RS" exhaust tip, the lowered stance, large wheel and tire package and that five-cylinder wail.
While the damage, at first, doesn't appear severe, it becomes obvious after some time. The front wheels are locked to the right and the rear suspension appears to be toast. Not to mention the exhaust and who knows what else is done for. The driver is seen outside of the vehicle and appears fine.
