The production of the 2011 Saab 9-4X crossover will push through even though Saab is no longer under GM. It is reported that the crossover, which was previewed at the Detroit auto show last year in the 9-4x concept, is due to hit showrooms at the latter part of next year.
Only a few details have been released for the crossover, but it is speculated that it will come with the General’s Theta Premium platform, which is also found in the latest 2010 Cadillac SRX model. The 9-4x production crossover will be manufactured under the auspices of GM even though Saab is currently owned by the Swedish sports car maker Koenigsegg. Further speculation has it that the car will be produced in Rampos Arizpe, Mexico together with the SRX. The deal struck with GM contains a provision that GM will provide additional support while releasing several products presently under development. The current 9-4x will act as a replacement for the 9-7x sport utility vehicle.
