Mercedes-Benz has anounced that its relationship with McLaren will be ending next year and we’ve already seen spy shots and a video of the last SLR McLaren edition before the split. Seen here is the upcoming limited-edition SLR McLaren Speedster undergoing some high-speed testing at the Nurburgring.
The SLR McLaren Speedster is expected to do 0-180mph in 25 seconds with a top speed of 218mph. The limited-edition McLaren is expected to be 200kg lighter than the standard SLR with 8 more horsepower than the 722 special-edition (which produces 650-hp). A debut is scheduled for the Detroit Motor Show in January followed by a limited production of 75 units.
Until the Mercedes-Benz SLC arrives, the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series will hold the crown.
