But as it vies to be the performance marque that produces the best grand tourers, it faces stiff competition. And though the original Rapide was a damn fine product, the reality is it needed a bit more spunk to justify its high barrier of entry.

With vehicles out there like the BMW M6 Gran Coupe and Porsche Panamera Turbo S, Aston must've known it had to quickly step up to the challenge. That's why we welcome the Rapide S.

Though we've seen shots of it, read the press release and even listened to Autocar's opinion on the vehicle, now it's time to do a walkaround and truly capture what is different and why the one letter "S" is so special.
