Across the country, the past couple of days have been hell. Well, assuming hell froze over.
That's because a winter storm named Dion has been creating havoc on major roadways spanning from Wisconsin to as far as Texas. And, as you'd expect, folks just don't know how to handle themselves in these incredibly dangerous situations.
In Wisconsin there was said to be approximately 200 or so vehicles involved in area pile ups. In Pennsylvania there was a 50-car pile up that resulted in the death of one individual that exited their vehicle.
Our condolences to the family and friends of that unfortunate person.
Remember, Spies:
- Start slow, stop slow
- If involved in an accident, remain in your vehicle if you cannot position yourself in a safe area
- Make sure you're NOT driving on summer tires — equip your vehicle with all-season tires or, even better, snow tires
Be safe out there, Spies!

A 50-car pile-up in Pennsylvania today left one driver dead and dozens of motorists stranded on the state turnpike for hours in the middle of a major snowstorm.
State police said late this afternoon that the 50 cars that were involved in the accidents had been pulled over to the shoulder and they estimated plow and salt trucks would be able to clear the area by evening.
According to ABC station WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, the motorist who died in the collisions was killed when he got out of the car and hit by another car.
