The problem with video is that now that everyone can capture it, we're flooded with tons of content. And because video only shows us essentially a snapshot in time, there's never proper context unless someone is thoughtful enough to provide it.
In this case, we have zero context.
Equipped with 650 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, the all-new C7 Corvette Z06 is a monster. BIG things are being expected from America's all-new sweetheart. And they've started finding their way home to empty garages and proud owners.
One such owner took his ride to the drag strip and turned out a 1/4 mile time of 11.77 at 120.54 mph.
A vehicle with launch control and this much power has us wondering if the blame falls solely on the driver. It appears the vehicle is manual and that first shift looks like a helluva Duesey — it's quite jerky. In addition, I don't believe he was using launch control as he just set off. Could he be taking it easy on his all-new car and just trying to get familiar? It's possible.
Or, could it be the Z06 just isn't that capable? It seems to be a bit of a stretch, but what if?
What say YOU, Spies?
