The reason why the exclamation in the title has been changed to a question mark is simple. Is this really a fair comparison?

Well, let's evaluate this a little bit.

According to our friends abroad the Paceman is priced more or less the same as the BMW M135i. The thing is that these are not exactly cut from the same cloth.

The BMW has been said to be just as good as the 2011 1M, which is going to go down in the history books as far as I am concerned. It's lower to the ground, has a lower center of gravity and likely has more sharp driving dynamics.

The JCW Paceman sure is the creme de la creme when it comes to MINI's take on the sport-utilty vehicle but the reality is its down on power, has a higher center of gravity and likely weighs more.

From the outset it looks like this is pointless.

Perhaps Steven Sutcliffe can shed some light and make sense why these are even in the same ring to begin with?

The Mini Paceman JCW packs a 215bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and four-wheel drive. But at nearly £30,000, it is priced identically to the brilliant BMW M135i. The question is, can the Mini's go-kart handling justify its price tag?
