As you know, Santa came early for my junior 00's in the form of new cars.
One got a 2021 Escape Hybrid and the other got the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-in hybrid.
Don't ask why not two of the same. Short answer. All about availability and deal.
Both nice vehicles but one has a key option that STILL works while the other DOESN'T.
Which option you ask?
APPLE CARPLAY.
Wait, the 2022 Hyundai DOESN'T have APPLE CARPLAY?
It does and WHEN it works, it's WIRELESS CarPlay.
But since our phones got updated to the iOS 15.2 version, the Santa Fe doesn't can't connect anymore. EVEN, via a usb cable.
And based on a few calls to some dealers, it's not just the Santa Fe. Dealers are telling us MULTIPLE models in their lineup are now having connection issues.
Also, don't get me started on why this 2022 Santa Fe Plug-in won't charge to the full amount 30-31 miles. MAX I can get is 26-29.
Let us know if you've experienced any CarPlay issues since updating your phones...
And Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals! And a Happy Year Year!
UPDATE: Good news! Our friends at Hyundai saw the article and took quick action and we're happy to report it's been fixed and CarPlay is working fine!
