Wireless motion-based services are advanced location-based services that deliver location-relevant information based on a mobile user's location, direction and speed. Motion-based services provide a substantially improved user experience in comparison to conventional location-based services because of this ability to deliver new information based on changing location data. The following examples show the advantages of motion-based services.
Advantage of Motion-Based NavigationA motion-based navigation service allows the mobile user to receive directions based on the user's movement on a path and will re-route the user as needed—for example if the user makes a
wrong turn or encounters heavy traffic.
A motion-based traffic information service allows the mobile user to request traffic information ahead of the user along the path that the user is traveling, rather than receiving irrelevant traffic information
close to but behind the user.
