I hit the zero miles mark on the gas gauge this AM and started thinking of my driving history over the years in the same situation.

Today in the 2023 Ford Expedition I made it about 20 miles.

DANGER is my MIDDLE name!

Have you ever pushed your car to the limit and driven with the gas gauge reading zero? It's a nerve-wracking experience that many of us have been through at least once. Maybe you were running late and thought you could make it to the gas station, or perhaps you were on a road trip and couldn't find a gas station for miles.

Driving with the gas gauge reading zero is not recommended, and it can be dangerous. Running out of gas on a busy highway or in an unfamiliar area can put you in a vulnerable position. It's always best to plan ahead and make sure you have enough gas to reach your destination.

However, we've all been in situations where we've had to test our luck and see how far we can push our cars. So, what's the furthest you've ever driven with the gas gauge reading zero? Did you make it to the gas station, or did you have to call for help?

Here's a graphic we SPIED on the web. Don't know how accurate it is and DON'T rely on this as gospel. But it is an interesting read.
