In a sad twist of fate, the take rate for the manual transmission on the Acura Integra has dropped massively compared to the initial figure, which had shown 70% of buyers opted for the top trim to gain access to the stick. Instead, the latest figures are much, much lower, as Autoblog was told that over the last year, only 19% of the 19,643 Integras shipped with a manual transmission.
 
But that figure may change once more, as the newly launched Integra Type S reached dealers this week and is only available with a stickshift. While the Integra Type S has a hefty price bump over the mechanically related - but not identical - Honda Civic Type R, it does enough to warrant the extra outlay, as we discovered after driving both.
