Audi is reportedly looking to buy a complete vehicle platform from IM Motors, as it’s seeking to improve its position in the Chinese market. The brand has struggled of late in the world’s largest auto market, which has become a fierce battleground for EVs.
So far, the automaker’s vehicles have all been based on platforms developed within the Volkswagen Empire, but competition from domestic manufacturers is heating up. In fact, analysts predict that 2023 will be the first year in which Chinese automakers control more than 50 percent of their home market.
