The rolling out of the first Cybertruck production model at its factory in Texas was the biggest news from Tesla this month. While that sounded like the end of a long wait, a crowd-sourced data tracker suggested prospective buyers might have to wait for five years before receiving their unit.

The tracker revealed that there are now over 1.9 million orders for the unconventional-looking pickup truck. This data reflects Tesla CEO Elon Musk's statement regarding the massive demand for the Cybertruck, saying it is "so off the hook, you can't even see the hook."

Of note, the pre-order deposit is only $100, so not every reservation will likely push through with ordering.
