Auto Spies exclusive: Rumors-2005 Rolls-Royce Corniche

Sounds cool

email: Robert.wolf@era.com

Dear 001,

Is the Rolls Royce Corniche fact or fiction???

The rumor is that the advanced aluminum chassis of the saloon has been shortened and stiffened to produce the classic Corniche look, with the rear suicide doors removed and longer front doors in their place for easier access. Sensationally, he intimated that the car has a folding metal roof, and because the dimensions are only a little shorter than the saloon, it can accommodate it without eating into rear passenger space or boot room.

Roof up, the car looks almost identical to the Saloon.

Major coachwork and structural changes seems to be the limits to the development work done on the car apparently, even the interior will carry over almost as-is, which is no great problem as it looks great
anyway. Under the bonnet, the fabulous 6.75-litre V12 engine, attached to BMW's six-speed gearbox remains untouched - and rumors of a "sportier" semi-automatic have been dashed.

Is this real or is it triple Tequila's talking? I hope it's real, cause I want one bad.

Cheers to all your readers,

Charles Gray
