Although the facelifted Ford F-150 has been improved in several areas, the maximum payload capacity of the pickup has curiously gone down, but it turns out there's a logical reason for that. First, let's take a look at those payload figures. The 2023 model could haul up to 3,315 pounds, but the 2024 replacement's maximum payload is now 2,455 lbs, a shocking drop of 860 lbs. As for why this change has occurred, it all relates to Ford wanting to reduce ordering complexity by up to 90%. That means removing options that weren't as popular, including the Heavy Payload Package available on 2023 models that very few customers actually selected.
