Finding an affordable new car heading into 2024 is tougher than ever, with the average transaction price surpassing $48,000. That we why wanted to put together a list of our favorite new cars that still cost well below $30,000. Unlike some other similar lists, we will be looking at the base manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) plus destination fee (which you cannot avoid) to determine our 10 cars. Not only that, but we will also be choosing vehicles with two trim levels that fall below the $30,000 mark with destination included.
This means sports cars like the Mazda MX-5 Miata and Subaru BRZ/Toyota GR86 cannot make the list since destination fees pull all but their base models above the price cap. We also tried to choose vehicles where pricing has been revealed for the 2024 model year, with only two exceptions. These are our 10 favorite cars under $30,000 for the 2024 model year.
