Officers on Monday night fired pepper balls at Gaza war protesters near the Tesla plant in Fremont, police said.
 
Around 80 people gathered for an assembly near Kato Road and State Route 262, just south of the factory, Fremont police Sgt. Kim Macdonald wrote in an email to this news organization.
 
Macdonald said officers “deployed pepper balls in response to the actions of those present at the protest.”
