Bentley has unveiled the updated Continental GT, bidding farewell to its iconic W12 engine and embracing a plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain. The new Continental GT, which is the first to feature this hybrid setup, boasts an impressive 771bhp and 738lb ft of torque. This makes it the most powerful road-going Bentley ever created.

The hybrid powertrain combines a new 4.0-litre V8 engine with an electric motor, resulting in a substantial increase in power and torque across the entire rev range. The electric motor alone can propel the car up to 87mph for up to 50 miles.

Bentley has also introduced a host of other updates, including a revised exterior design, a new interior with advanced technology features, and improved driving dynamics. The new Continental GT is set to arrive in the UK later this year, with prices starting from £236,600.

With this update, Bentley has taken a significant step towards electrification while still delivering the luxury and performance that the brand is known for.
