Rumors that Tesla might ditch the Foundation Series gain more traction as demand for the electric pickup truck has waned in the US. However, Tesla still has a few tricks up its sleeves before throwing in the towel. The EV maker started sales of the Cybertruck in Mexico and Canada, while US customers can order the truck without a reservation.
 
The first signs that Tesla could drop the Foundation Series appeared in June, as the production ramp overlapped with slowing demand for the electric pickup. During the June 13 shareholder meeting, Elon Musk let us know that Tesla might start orders for regular Cybertruck variants in the third quarter. We're approaching the middle of the quarter, and Tesla is pulling its last demand levers before dropping the Foundation Series markup.
