Ford had big plans for its EV lineup. A three-row SUV with zero tailpipe emissions was set to join the three-model portfolio. However, the automaker has just announced a change of plans. The already delayed electric SUV is no longer coming.
 
Ford Motor Company is making a 180 after years of marching ahead toward an entirely electric lineup. It all started when it dropped a shift on the production line of the F-150 Lightning earlier this year and added another one to the production of the Ford Bronco, explaining that the move is caused by an anticipated plunging demand for EVs.
 
The carmaker has been trying to be one step ahead, but the expected "plunging demand" has never actually come. Ford achieved record sales figures for its electric lineup in July. Ford sold 8,242 EVs last month, which represents a 31% increase compared to July 2023.
