To be honest, we already have the 2025 Lexus GX and LX Overtrail (and Overtrail+) in North America, but those are real off-road vehicles anyway – both share the modular TNGA-F body-on-frame architecture used for all Toyota and Lexus mid- and full-size SUVs plus pickup trucks.

However, Lexus is now dipping its toes into the world of rugged unibody crossover SUVs – something that other brands are doing as well. Note the likes of Ford Bronco Sport Badlands, the upcoming Honda CR-V TrailSport, the new Honda Passport TrailSport, the Nissan Rogue Rock Creek, and the Jeep Trailhawks, among others. Alas, interestingly, the luxury division of the Japanese automaker isn't launching its first foray into rugged unibody crossover SUVs in North America.

Instead, it's going to be a forbidden fruit – at least for now – because the new adventure-travel-oriented 2025 Lexus NX Overtrail was presented on the Old Continent. The aim for the compact luxury crossover SUV is to reach new destinations – things like "a secluded beach far from the crowds, a dramatic mountain trail and panoramic landscapes rich in natural beauty" are the kinds of new destinations that their new NX Overtrail could discover.
