The Prancing Horse of Maranello's entry-level midship will soon be replaced by a new model. In the meantime, Ferrari continues testing a very special 296 swansong edition that may be called 296 Speciale as a nod to the 458 Speciale.

Also referred to as 296 Versione Speciale, this fellow is expected to debut in April 2025 for the 2026 model year. Despite being entirely camouflaged, we can see that a new front bumper and larger intakes are in the offing.

Visible changes further include a more generous rear spoiler, along with a new aerodynamic diffuser. Pictured just outside Ferrari's Maranello headquarters, the camouflaged prototype rocks carbon brakes with Giallo-painted calipers and Bridgestone Potenza rubber. Said performance-oriented tires are somewhat of a surprise. Both the GTB and the GTS feature Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires, while Assetto Fiorano-equipped models can be optioned with the higher-performance Pilot Sport Cup 2 R.
