A week ago, YouTuber Mark Rober posted a video showing an alleged self-driving Tesla crashing through a painted wall, stirring controversies. Given the many inconsistencies in that video, a Tesla fan tried replicating the experiment using a Tesla Model Y and a Cybertruck. However, the results resulted in an even bigger question mark.
 
Last week, YouTuber Mark Rober opened a can of worms when he pitted his Tesla Model Y against a Luminar engineering vehicle to demonstrate that the lack of LiDAR makes Tesla EVs unsafe. Far from proving the point, the video caused unrest in the Tesla community, mainly because of the many inconsistencies in how the experiment was conducted and the video was recorded.
 
Rober invited a Luminar engineer with one of its latest prototype cars to participate in the experiment. Luminar is one of the leading manufacturers of LiDAR technology, and the company's CEO just so happened to be an old acquaintance of Rober, having donated money for one of his campaigns. The fact that Tesla was not invited to show off its latest tech and instead, Rober used his old Tesla equipped with HW3 Autopilot hardware was strike number one.
