It's been 36 years since the first Discovery SUV rolled off the Land Rover assembly lines, and in the time that has passed since the nameplate established itself as the go-to one for the people in the market for high-performance, luxury, off-road capable vehicles. The model is at the same time kind of a niche one, and that means it doesn't come out with new stuff as often as others do.
Imagine our surprise, then, when we learned of not one, but two special edition discoveries meant not only as a nod to the nameplate's past, but also as means to draw more customers in. As usual when it comes to Land Rover, special edition does not mean any change to the mechanical bits and technical specifications, but plenty of visual and comfort upgrades.
The two special editions are called Tempest and Gemini, and they are both powered by the established Ingenium D350 diesel engine that works together with a mild-hybrid electric piece of tech.
