Newly released figures show that almost half of all Toyota vehicles sold in the United States during the third quarter were hybrid cars.
 
When it comes to hybrid cars, Toyota is quite a trailblazer.
 
It launched the ever-popular Prius in 1997 – the world’s first mass-produced hybrid vehicle. 
 
Almost three decades on, almost half of the cars it sells are now electrified.
