There are few things more frustrating than buying a brand-new car, only to immediately get slapped with a major safety recall. Unfortunately, that is exactly the nightmare scenario currently facing thousands of recent Volkswagen buyers. VW has officially issued a massive recall for over 61,000 recent-model Jettas across North America.
 
According to the official Safety Recall Report submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the transmission ground wire on certain Jettas may not have been connected during the vehicle assembly process. It’s a classic case of human error on the factory floor, but leaving the vehicle with an open electrical circuit is no small oversight.
