Genesis Motor hasn’t been around long on planet Earth: the first Genesis luxury sedan was presented under the Hyundai brand in 2004, and the nameplate was then spun into an independent brand in late 2015. Its first model, the flagship G90 sedan, didn’t even arrive until 2017. So, quite obviously, they haven’t done their own models even for a decade…
But their ambitions are very high. For example, back in late January 2026, they introduced the off-road Genesis X Skorpio Concept that hinted at their intention to play with the big brands even when off the pavement. But of course, they have to start from somewhere – and that’s where the Genesis GV60 Magma comes in.
