The Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar lines up for the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend, but the racing program isn’t the only thing the Korean brand brought to France. Genesis pulled the covers off a refined Magma GT concept with a finished interior and a track-ready GT3 derivative at the Circuit de la Sarthe, and both signal that the mid-engined sports car is closing in on production.
The Magma GT Concept first appeared in November 2025 as a preview of what Genesis calls its first pure sports car. This is the reintroduction, and the changes are small but telling. The bodywork trades the loud Magma Orange for a metallic green paired with copper alloy wheels, a combination that flatters the car’s curves far better than the launch color did. Parked next to an Aston Martin, it wouldn’t look out of place.
