However, the $61,990 price of the Launch Series Model Y L silenced everyone. People now hope that a future regular model would be more affordable, especially as the Launch package is rather light in features.
With the demise of the Model X earlier this year, Tesla vacated an important market segment. Three-row SUVs are highly popular in the US, and Tesla had no model to compete. This is why the launch of the Model Y L with an extended wheelbase in China was seen as the proper fix.
